I have one of these! They are brilliant.

Attach to your dogs collar, or yourself, switch it on, and you will flash red and blue lights for miles in the dark. You could quite easily be mistaken for the emergency services, but at least you'll be seen on these long dark winter nights. Tiny but effective!

Also good if you're going mountaineering, and you want the rescue helicopter to find you.

We have two very small mountains on Anglesey Jennifer, more of a zit than a mountain, you'd be fine.
