    NAME OF DOG- TIKKA
BREED OF DOG - YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - FEMALE
AGE OF DOG - 7 YEARS OLD
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - YES
    VACCINATED - TO BE ARRANGED
MICROCHIPPED - TO BE ARRANGED WHEN NEW OWNER FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - YES
    CATS - YES
    CHILDREN - YES AGED 10 & OVER
APPROX WEIGHT - 7kg - currently on a diet, so will hopefully lose weight over time.

These two yorkies have come into rescue because their owner has had a baby and could not cope with the baby pulling the dogs around.
The dogs have started to get grumpy with the baby who would not leave them alone. These dogs are very well loved and have been spoilt.
Their fosterer will come along and update the thread and will supply us with photos and weights for the dogs.
These 2 are a pair so will NOT be split. If you are interested in adopting both, please bear in mind that it is DOUBLE everything! (but double the love & kisses tooooooooo)

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Shandy & Tikka is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.
The adoption form can be found by clicking on the here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

Both Tikka and Shandy are little darlings.I am treating today as a settling in day and will update agaain tomorrow. Will get them vet checked etc. They enjoyed a bath and shower this morning ,Tikka especially. It may have soothed her sore rear leg. They get on great with my 9 and 10 year old and friendly towards my 2 chinese cresties.Shandy has calmed down a bit today after befriending a Furr-real friends toy dog belonging to my daughter. He was a bit over friendly with it until it moved and yapped at him!He got the shock of his life and now regards it with great suspicion! That'll teach him!!Tikka is more laid back.Once i figure out how to post photos will put some pics on.I am new to this site so still learning!

Shandy is at the front. He's about 6.5 in to the shoulder.Tikka is about 8 -9 inches ...difficult to measure when they keep moving!Although not weighed properly ,Shandy is about 1.5 kg,Tikka about 5-6...she is overweight but has been eating one meal per day since they got here so should lose it quickly. Both love the kids and today played with the crestie dogs(who played in return for the first time).Shandy has tried to be a bit bossy with pip our neutered male dog,but this may change once he loses his own bits, lol. The yorkies are quite feisty in their play,as terriers are and my two were a bit taken aback!Shandy and Tikka love their cuddles and being brushed by the children, aged 9 and 10.They also love walkies ...Tikka has been good off-lead(walks with a limp so no chance of running off!)However, her recall is good,as is Shandy's on a long lead.Shandy tends to pull a bit on a shorter lead but should be easily sorted with some training. He is a keen walker and could walk for miles.Tikka is resting her sore leg from today to see if there is improvement.Happy to say also that they are both house-trained despite a few accidents on day 1.They were initially anxious in the car although no travel sickness. They are better now as car means walkies in the park, lol.

Hi,johanna not sure if they are brother and sister. There is year difference in age but there is a similarity around the snout so i suppose they could be related. They have been friendly towards both my dogs and today Shandy had a good run off lead in the park, chasing sticks with my dogs. This morning he was a bit bossy with my neutered male but was soon put in his place and has been ok since. They had a little play soon after. The yorkies have their dinner next to my dogs(4 little dishes in a row, lol) and there has been absolutely no food aggression from any of them.Shandy is full of energy and keeps himself active with toys(and scamp, lol!).Tikka is more laid back and very sweet natured, happy to sit on your lap and chill!

these two little souls have ,i believe, been passed around a bit .Their latest owner was not the first and there is reported history of abuse by a previous male owner towards shandy. He has a few missing teeth.....not sure if related to this.He certainly shows no fear of men and loves my hubby and every one else. One noticeable thing about him is that if he is offered a tit bit he backs of warily then makes a quick lunge to grab the food before making a retreat. This is the only sign of timid behaviour i have seen in him.Tikka is ok and takes food gently when offered. They both need and deserve a loving forever home and some stability in their lives.

We are not long back from nail-clipping session and there is a big difference!Tikka herself looked surprised at how well she can walk and left the vets with a spring in her step. She also climbed out of the car herself and started trotting off down the road! I had to run after her!But...there is still a hobble and it's still the right rear leg, unfortunately.Could be that the pad is still sore but time will tell. Will try to post more pics soon.

Thank you so much for taking her. Did vet try to call me please for payment? My phone seemed to not stop ringing & I was trying so hard to get rid of people on the other end.
PM me the vets number so I can call them to make payment in the morning please.
