MOLLY - SHIH TZU - NORTHAMPTON

Post by yorkiegirl on Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:27 am

    NAME OF DOG - MOLLY
BREED OF DOG - SHIH TZU
    SEX OF DOG - FEMALE
AGE OF DOG - 7 YEARS OLD APPROX
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - YES
    VACCINATED - YES
MICROCHIPPED - TO BE ARRANGED WHEN NEW OWNER FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - YES
    CATS - YES
CHILDREN - NOT YOUNG ONES POSSIBLY OVER 10 YEARS
APPROX WEIGHT - 11.25KG APPROX affraid

Molly was handed to us after he elderly daddy passed away suddenly & her elderly mummy had to go into care as it was her daddy that also cared for her mummy. Dawny so kindly took her in for us even though she is nursing poor Thomas as it was an emergency as none of the family could take her.
Dawny has took her to the vets as she had a urine infection, a gooey eye, dirty ears & also Dawny was worried about a 'lump' in her mouth. Upon vet inspection it appears that the lump is just where the sides of her mouth have thickened there is no signs of any thing untoward or needing any treatment. She has antibiotics foor her urine infection & also for her eye. Her ears were cleaned out & it appears that it was just surface dirt, again nothing that is going to cause any long term problems. She has clearly been very well loved & spoilt as she is very overweight!!!!!! She needs to lose a few kilos & as she does not appear to have any kind of exercise for a while will need short walks to build her up.
Here is what Dawny has sent to me

"Molly is a great little dog...no trouble at all..she will fit in anywhere...
She is approx 7 years old...speyed..vaccinated...her health is in pretty good condition..
She weighs 11.25 kilos...she is houstrained, great with children and other dogs...cats don't phase her..she is obediant and just needs loads of love..
she sleeps in her bed downstairs..and is playfull when you get to know her...great on the lead with a harness...
she has been groomed, wormed and flea treated.
I am sure if there are any questions Dawny will happily answer when she is able to, but bear in mind she has Thomas as her first priority.

    Before Dawny had her groomed

    After her pamper session

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of Molly is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.
The adoption form can be found by clicking on the here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

Hi All..I just had to let you all know what a perfect houseguest this little lady is... There is nothing I can fault her on..Molly has it all and would make someone a perfect pet..
Molly has lost the owner she has had all of her life...and has been very well looked after...I have had her groomed and she looks gorgeous..
Please don't dismiss her because she is a little older...she has plenty of life left in her yet..

Few more pics of sweet Molly that Dawny has kindly sent to me. She looks like she is enjoying the snow!!! Dawny really has said that this girlie is an absolute angel. The only fault she has found with her is that............................................................................

    She snores affraid

I am collecting Molly tomorrow as Dawny needs some time to spend with her family who have had a really rough 9 months.

Molly is doing very well here with me. She is off to Aunty Nats tomorrow for a 'quieter' life until she is ready for adoption. She needs to shed several KG's as her optimum weight for her frame should be around 6/7kgs affraid .
We have had several application forms in for her already, but you can if you wish to be considered also put one in.

Sue she looks much better already.
i think eventually if you thought she was suitable, Sue edwards and Molly would make a lovely match together,( she keeps asking me if i think you will consider her).
Sue,s just seen the recent pics of Molly in the snow and she,s even more hooked.
    Take care

She is adorable......what a lovely gentle lady. She has had a good sniff round and a big drink, my lot have been very good with her (phew). We have already had kisses and cuddles.....she is looking a tad bemused, which isn't suprising and she must be worn out poor love. Will post some pics asap......cos I'm pants with the camera !!! geek

Just a quick update on Molly who has been with us since yesterday afternoon.

Molly is the most gentle lady, so affectionate and loves cuddles. She is settling in very well, and has eaten (small portions) as we are trying to reduce her weight. Last night she slept in her bed upstairs in my room, my lot sleep on my bed and so I didn't want her to feel abandoned or excluded. However, she is unable climb the stairs as her legs are short with a lot of weight to carry. She still has her owners coat and jumper in her bed, they're a tad smelly, but I feel removing or washing them wouldn't be good for her until she is in her forever home. Today she had a short walk to the top of the street and back and then this afternoon managed a quarter of the way around the park, which she seemed to enjoy. She has had some dinner and is currently crashed out in her bed snoring like a bloke affraid

I do think, and could be wrong, that the volume of her snoring will reduce when she is nearer her ideal weight. There is nothing I can fault her on, she really is an angel (apart from the not so angelic sound of her snoring ). Whoever is lucky enough to give this lovely lady a forever home will be extremely happy. Anyone looking at her pics needs to see beyond her weight and years, she has such a beautiful face, and will make someone a perfect pet for years to come.

    Nat xx

    Hi folks

Thought I best give everyone an update on Molly who has been with me for a week now.

What can I say, she is still adorable. Though very shy, she is a dream to look after.

Molly's diet is going well and she seems to be getting fitter, as she can now jump up on the sofa at first attempt and manages to waddle quite happily all the way around the park and has on occasion got a bit of a 'trot on' which is lovely to see !!!

I hope there are plenty of people in line wanting to give Molly a forever home as she has so much love to give. I feel she needs to be with either an older dog or just somewhere with a slower pace of life, as Looshka is a tad too boisterous for her when he has his Mad Half Hour Head on. My Phoebe who is very laid back appears to be much more Molly's cup of tea.

I will take her to the vets this week and pop her on the scales to see if she has lost any weight.

    Hi Dawny

Congratulations on your good news, I'm so pleased for you, and deserve something nice to happen that's for sure.

Molly's really settled in, seems to have come into her own since yesterday. I'm quite in love with her, like you said she is a perfect pet (apart from the snoring, it does make me giggle). To be honest if Looshka wasn't so boisterous I reckon I'd be a failed fosterer. She is so loving, a proper little angel, I can't fault her at all. Also she seems to be getting fitter and to enjoys trotting and waddling round the park, though I've not been able to walk them today as I've hurt my back and steals syndrome has flared up in both wrists, so I can't grip the leads.

Your right, whovever is lucky enoughto give her a forever home will have many happy years with her.

    Love from

Nat, Phoebe, Daphne, Looshka & Molly Moo xx
