Emergency foster placements needed for puppy farm dogs

Post by mulan on Thu Feb 25, 2010 5:27 am

    Hi All

We have an immediate need for foster carers for 1 male, 2 female Cavaliers and a Female Yorkie, They can be split, they are ex puppy farm dogs, hence they may need house training.
They will probably be of a nervous disposition and will need lots of TLC, maybe another quiet dog in the home would help to teach the older dog new tricks.

Please complete a volunteer form if you are able to assist us: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Ideally we are looking for foster carers in counties around Lincolnshire, As this will make the transporting of the dogs less stressful.

Thank You for taking the time to read this.

    Head going round in circles.
All I know so far is that we have the following coming to me tomorrow from a breeder/hoarder.
    1 x Male Cavalier
    2 x Female Cavaliers
1 x (sex unknown as dog is so matted lady not sure what end is what!) Yorkie

I prefer these to go fairly close as I am not sure what will need doing vet wise. They will all be bathed, wormed/frontlined & tidyed up.

I will call the 4 people that I feel may be best for these little ones.

If they are anything like the last 4 from this place they WILL NOT be house trained so whoever has one must be prepared for a lot of mopping/standing out side. I am also unsure whether they are used to being walked so again a lot of patience will be required.

    Hi Sue and everyone

Happy to help but just at the mo driving to you would be too exhausting (ME playing up.) Spending time at home opening and closing the back door etc not a prob though. Filled in another form but forgot to mention on it that both my sis and my best friend are vets... T'inks due a trip to the grromer for his b'day present - could always take 2!!!

Why are they always so far away ?? but as I have only had my pekingese for under 2 weeks ( and they have not had their vaccinations yet ) so think it may be unfair to take in others yet - but would love to - never mind..I know you have lots out there that will and are closer..Did I miss how old they are ??

I think we have this situation organised now, Sue received the 3 cavaliers today, but the Yorkie will be handed in at a later date,

We would like to thank all concerned and for every person who replied and emailed us, It is so heart warming to know we have such a caring community on this forum.
