    recycling things for fundraising

Post by gail on Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:26 am

I know some charities can use recycled stuff like stamps, printer cartridges etc to raise money but I don't know how they go about doing this.

I have some stamps to recycle and was wondering if it was something the rescue could use to raise some dosh?

Mulan has never got back about these items, maybe she forgot to investigate. Yry a google search, I have not got much time at the moment, have a plague of dogs here, or a pack, I don't know though a plague I think.

For stamps I found a site called recycle now that says: Rescues/charities sell the stamps to dealers (per kilo) and use the money to fund their projects.

found this site on google about recycling ink catridges and all other stuff.
    http://www.reducereuserecycle.co.uk/where_can_I_recycle/printer_and_toner_cartridges.php

I guess it means us all sending them to admin and them collecting them in (as many as poss) then sending them all together to get money for them.

Perhaps someone else could offer to do this bit of "fund raising work " now that Mulan is foster co-ordinator you will of course need storage until enough is collected .. Just thinking out loud .. but is up for it ...

Now if only I could find my euro millions winning ticket ( I wish ) I would have plenty of room .... that was one hell of a big win for someone... Shocked that no one has claimed it ...but seriously is willing and able to step in ...

If you all want to send your bits to me I can store them in one of the sheds out back until I find out the best way to raise funds with them
    Address is
Yorkshire Terrier & Toy Breed Rescue
    Grange Cottage
    32 High Street
    Osbournby
    Lincs
    NG34 0DP

I will get Mulan & Gail (that will teach you to ask for something to do) to see what we can get for the bits.
Stamps, cartridges, foreign coins, mobile phones & anything else you can think of.
    You are all stars.
    Clapping

I tried to sell my old mobile phones and they were all too old, I don't think they even want them to take apart. I think we have four, if they want them they can have them.

A year or so ago the police asked for old moblies which they amend so could only be used for emergency or something to give to woman in abusive cases (homes away from their abusive husband etc) just in case their hubby's found them. and for junkies getting clean so they could phone the help line when they needed surport on bad days.
For children in high risk situations etc. They where altered so they could only be used to ring set numbers.
