MARLEY - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - HULL

Post by yorkiegirl on Mon May 03, 2010 9:03 am

NAME OF DOG - MARLEY (WAS MILO)
BREED OF DOG - YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - MALE
AGE OF DOG - 10 MONTHS
NEUTERED/SPAYED - NO BEING ARRANGED BY FOSTER CARER
    VACCINATED - YES
MICROCHIPPED - NO TO BE ARRANGED WHEN NEW OWNER IS FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - YES
    CATS - TO BE ASSESSED
    CHILDREN - YES
APPROX WEIGHT - FOSTER CARER TO UPDATE

Marley has come in to the care of the rescue due to his owners circumstances changing in the near future & it was felt that Marley would not get the attention that he deserves. Rather than prolong it they felt it would be best for him to come in now instead of several months down the line when he was older making it harder for him. He is a typical pupster. So far getting on great with Helens to lovely boys & also Max & Pippin.
Aunty Helen will be along as soon as she can (after she has managed to put him down Rolling Eyes ) to tell you all more about this little man & try if possible to get a few pics of him on.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of MARLEY is required to complete an adoption form after reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.
The adoption form can be found by clicking on the here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

I had just started a thread for him on 'Dog Chat' we must have been doing the same thing at once Sue Very Happy Well, where do I start about Milo/Marley (Kieran has insisted on changing his name to Marley??? He answers to it so I have let him Shocked )

Marley is a beautiful/handsome little dog. He had a fantastic nature and has taken his long journey and new experiences completely in his stride sunny He has a little bit of a 'runny bum' today but it's to be expected Shocked Marley's mummy was heartbroken to part with him, he has been a very loved little man, this shows through in his lovely personality. He loves kids (he's tucked up in bed with Kieran at the moment and slept there with him last night until it was my bedtime Sleep ).

It's early days yet, but so far all I can do is report wonderful things about Marley He has come from a young family home and is looking for similar, he loves people and is very easy going. Being 10 months old he will need lots of exercise. He's lovely and is going to make someone VERY happy Not many photos as he doesn't stay still for long!

He's getting on great with Pippin-they had a bit of a grump and a growl when they first met but have been best friends since. Max likes him too although I think he will like him a bit better when he's been for a certain little operation at the vets if you know what I mean He had certainly kept us on our toes today but we've had lots of fun with them all Very Happy

Hi Penny. You need to fill in an adoption form to apply for Marley. You could also post some information about yourself in the introduction forum and then we can welcome you officially. But anyway.

He's so lovely Love1 Marley is the sort of little dog that everyone wants to stroke and say 'Hello' to Waving Kieran had a giggle this morning as when he took Marley for his walk lots of Ladies came out of the sheltered housing to see him Very Happy (Normally it's just one lady who comes to see Max or Pippin Very Happy ) he got a little bit further and more people wanted to see him....you get the drift lol!

Marley came to watch Zak play rugby tonight and (as expected) was a true star Love3 He sat patiently with me while we watched and then had great fun running and chasing with all of the kids in a field

We've had a few accidents which I'm not worried about as my house must have so many scents that are a little confusing for a pup - I think he will be fine once he settles and gets used to all of the smells sunny It's marking more than an 'accident'.

He's booked for a trip to the vets next Friday affraid He will come back slightly lighter (if you get my drift! lol).

If all these ladies keep coming out to say Waving you best add a few more minutes on to the walk timetable. Sounds asif he is settling well and getting lots of love from you all - and once his bits have been sorted he will be fine..Think there is more than one application for him already.. Clapping

He loves Kieran and follows him everywhere Love1 He's up in bed with him at the moment Sleep Hope your okay xx

Marley has been with us a week now, he's settling in really well and his true personality is really coming through Very Happy He is a happy little chap, great with kids, dogs, visitors etc. He is learning to be nice to the guinea pigs affraid but at the moment he views them as a food source affraid lol!

He loves being in the garden with Max and the kids. He will chase a ball, and is learning the 'drop' command Very Happy . He loves walks and is good on a lead Very Happy We are working on leave and stay commands too, he is 95% accurate on 'sit' but as most yorkies do - he has selective hearing! lol! (baked liver seems to help with that though Suspect ) His 'marking' has just about ceased, we have only had one or two incidents, he is starting to run to the door now though to be let outside!

Marley is not an fussy pup, he is very gentle(except if you're a guinea pig) but still quite lively Very Happy Marley would definitely benefit from a family environment, he is full of fun (and mischief) and he is a pleasure to foster cheers Photo's are rather tricky to take of this little fella...I have just downloaded 37 onto my computer Shocked (about 30 of them are his ear, bum or side of head where he turned at the wrong moment )

Such a sweet innocent little face! Do we know how much he weighs yet and how tall he is? Is he likely to grow more? (It's a long time since I had a pup!) Really good news that he is responding well to a bit of training!

I tried the introduction to them yesterday affraid I held the unshockable guinea pig and stroked Marley a the same time....it needs much more work as the effect was very similar to watching a great white 'playing' with a shark cage when the divers are inside affraid He really doesn't need to 'make friends' with his lunch affraid

Marley also views the hoover as lunch affraid However, I do think I stand a chance of training him on that one Suspect Marley weighs 4.6kg, my vet said he will still gain weight for a bit yet, South Yorkies...I cant get him to stand still for long enough to measure him Suspect He is 'average' yorkie size, sorry!

Hi Emma, please don't think me rude but can I ask why you're only looking for a girl dog? Having looked after/had both I cannot really tell the difference between them (apart from the obvious! lol)
