Toby is with Aunty Helen at present.
This is what she has so far observed.
Toby came into the rescue on Wednesday evening after his old owners were concerned with Toby chewing their lino and felt that as elderly people Toby needed a more stimulating environment. While he has been staying with myself I can report that we have had no unwanted chewing issues at all.
Toby is a delightful young dog. At 18 months old he is a very timid, gentle boy and will need a quiet home that has experience of rescue dogs. Toby is learning slowly to play and I feel that with time and gentle encouragement Toby will become the perfect dog. He is very clever and is constantly learning. As Toby's confidence grows we are going to begin learning basic training commands but at the moment he is learning through observing the others. I do feel however that Toby needs a home where another dog is present to give him the confidence to enjoy being a young dog.
Toby is gaining confidence on a lead, he doesn't stray far and I feel that in time his recall will be perfect, I only keep him on lead at he moment in case a loud noise startles him. He has fit in really well with the pack here, initially he did show some fear aggression but this soon went and he is friendly with all the dogs. He is prone to a bout of nerves when meeting strangers or new dogs and does submit and 'fear pee' in this situation. He soon overcomes this though and has been clean in the house (other than the fear peeing).
Toby has been fine with my boys but seems to prefer older teenagers or adults to young children. * At present my vet feels that we should give Toby the chance to gain confidence before we castrate so we will discuss it again with the vet when he goes back again in a fortnight. Toby is a very handsome young dog and I know with time and love he really will make someone VERY happy.

for you both

He is going to make someone a very faithful companion.

Sure with you and boys Helen he will gain more confidence.
Marley will soon teach him some games!
x
He looked very sad when I left him there but I'm sure he will be fine when I collect him later on today
) lol! He now enjoys human company and knows that people are kind. The fear peeing is less and less now
for Toby when he gets home from the vets

Norma and family are delighted with him and love him very much.
Looks like a perfect match all round
