    30th Birthday Fundraiser!

Post by mathremuk on Fri Jul 16, 2010 4:56 am

    Hello!!!

I know this is early but....... I am 30 on November 6th and I really want to host a charity birthday party. I want to divide the money between a cancer charity as I have lost a lot of my family including my mum to cancer and also to the Yorkie Rescue as I have two little wonderful dogs from here who give me the most amazing unconditional love!

Is it possible to setup a justgiving page for all my birthday presents to be donations? I cannot seem to find this charity in the listing for justgiving charity. If not this website is there any others? I can get more money online because I have a lot of relatives and friends abroad.

Also I plan to hold a charity raffle on the night so I need a headed letter to state I am looking for charity prizes for the raffle. Then I can take it around companies and get loads of great prizes.

If anybody has any other ideas for the night then let me know.

Can someone from admin please PM me on the things I have mentioned above.

    Many thanks

    Love Kelly & Johan

Sorry just to add, I have just finished reading the Justgiving website and they need a registered charity number, And as with all dog rescues we cannot get a "charity" number as the charity commissions do not acknowledge our work as a "service to the public"....I know its not fair, but it never is.

A bit more useless info for peeps, You may find that other rescues do in fact advertise that they are a registered "CHARITY" they indeed are not, they are in fact a registered "non profitable BUSINESS" and the number they display is in fact a company registration number. And I can honestly say if I mention to Sue about registering as a "Non Profitable Business", she will kill me..... Hide I know her reply would be "Were not a BUSINESS"....And thats leaving out the rude words.....lol

Im sure we can find a way though, What if I made a section on the forum for people to visit and they can leave messages there....Mmmmm I need more time to sort this,

    Help anyone????? lol

    Hugs

    Mulan

After thought: I could make personalised key rings for your birthday bash, and people who donate will get one sent to them. I could do that...

Thanks all for comments!!! Sorry have been a bit distracted lately.

    Hi Mulan,

Decided to have an eighties themed party with giant rubix cube props, sandwich toasters, pac man arcades and lots of memorabilia!!!

The profits of the bar will be divided up between the charities so hopefully I can get everyone very drunk! Also again I am going to do a raffle so if you could do me that letter (I will PM you my address). If you can just type what I am doing and a little bit about the charity I am sure it will be fine. We hope to also have some eighties competitions like break dancing etc and raise more money and also for the best dressed.

If anyone else has anymore ideas please let me know! Smile

The justgiving thing is a bit of a issue, is there anyway around this like a different site or can I somehow send details of where people can wire the money to?

The keyrings would be fab!!! thanks! Also is there something that we can do in poster form so I can stick it up in the venue with some pictures and some text about the charity and what you do.

Any other ideas keep them coming, I have lots of friends helping me!! Smile

    OHHHHHH SO Excited!

    Thanks

    Kelly

There have been problems with admin. One changing her provider should be back on soon and another off ill, and Sue has been doing mostly everything, have you tried phoning her, it may be a case of keep trying. Have you also tried phoning Mulans mobile. 07788191619 between 9am and 6pm.

Right, I'm pants with posters! I have one that jackie sent me asking for fosterers so wondering if that can be adapted by someone??

Ages ago - may going back over a year, not sure, there may have been an appeal for one of the dogs so just gonna try and find out how people donated for that.

Give me a bit more time and will try and come up with something Very Happy

Hi there, I tried to text Mulan but no joy.

The event is split between Cancer Research and Yorkie Rescue. I have received some banners, leaflets, donation pouches from Cancer Research.

I also received a letter of authority from cancer research so I can use that to go and get all my raffle prizes so I dont need anything like that off you guys now.

Just some handouts maybe and a poster and then of course tell me how people can donate that are not coming to the party.

btw I am a female Smile Its Kelly, I just have a weird boys screen name and the bloke in my pictures is my boyfriend Razz
