Peggy was on the put to sleep list at our local council pound with 6 other Staffy crosses. All 7 got pulled by us and other rescues. Peggy is now ready to find a home.
She is approximately 12-15 months old and still has a lot of puppy bounce in her due to the amount of time she spent in kennels. We have now had her spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated and she is ready to leave on 21.09.10.
When she arrived she was very hard work.
She has now settled well into family life and her house manners are improving greatly. She is fully toilet trained and still hasn't had a single accident since she arrived. She loves her walks and as soon as she feels tension in her lead she relaxes to your pace. Her recall is excellent, she loves a good blast around the field or along the canal but as soon as she's called she bounces back over with a big sloppy smile on her face. However, she MUST be kept on her lead if there are other animals around, Peggy is NOT good with any other animals at all!!!
Peggy is very quiet in the house and has no problem being left alone up to 4 hours as long as she has plenty of toys, bones and a tv or radio playing for her and water. She will not be allowed to go to a home that uses cages or to be a living outdoors dog!
This beautiful girl will need very experienced owners to continue with her training. She still has a lot of bounce in her and at 17.5kilos that bounce can hurt! We would prefer a home with no young children i.e, age 12 upwards, that have had Bull breed dogs before. It must be a pet free home. Peggy needs a complete retrain as far as other animals are concerned!
Peggy is an amazing little girl, she is so full of love to give and she really deserves a home to call her own now. With the right owners she will be a perfect pet, she just needs time, experience and lots and lots of love. She's chosen my partner as her master here and obeys his every command without hesitation. She's just amazing!
17.09.10 - Peggy went bouncing over to two small dogs that appeared from no-where today! She froze with her tail wagging and let them sniff her, then one of them tried sniffing her spay stitches and she grumbled, the dog jumped on her and she tried to... come running back to us with her tail between her legs! She didn't snap or try to fight at all, just wanted to come back to us but the two others started "rounding her up" so she just stood until I reached her and got her out of there! We were amazed and it shows she is perfectly capable of a re-train with other dogs!
