MONTY - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - LINCOLNSHIRE

Post by yorkiegirl on Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:45 am

    NAME OF DOG - MONTY
BREED OF DOG - STANDARD YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - MALE
AGE OF DOG - 8 YEARS OLD
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - YES
    VACCINATED - 1st VACS DONE
MICROCHIPPED - NO TO BE DONE WHEN NEW OWNER IS FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - YES
    CATS - YES
    CHILDREN - OLDER SENSIBLE ONES
    APPROX WEIGHT - 6KG
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER - 14" APPROX

Monty has come into our rescue as he was begining to get snappy with the resident 2 year old twins affraid . He was finding it hard to cope with such young ones running around and was spending more & more time in the garden to get away from them. It was a very hard decision for his old owners as they had him from a puppy, but felt it not fair to keep him segregated whilst the children were awake. He is perfect. He is in foster care with Silkysal who is totally smitten with him. He is great with other dogs, cats & older children. He went to the groomers on Friday & looks a totally different lad, so handsome.
Had one or two accidents in the house and was not too keen about sleeping in the kitchen at first, but after a little chat to him it now appears ok lol! . He loves his walks & will go for miles. Also likes a game of ball with a willing participant.

I am sure that Sally will be along to tell you all more about this stunning lad.

I knew there was a beautiful boy under all that hair, etc!! Good luck Monty Magpie hope you find a new home soon. He was great in the car on the way back from Wales, not car sick and was content to lay next to Joey.

    Hi All

Monty is out with OH as I write this. He is a lovely lad, very chilled and easy to please. He greets everyone we meet and is dog friendly but chases cats! I don't know how he would react to a cat already in situ. He did freeze when we passed close by to some smaller children so I will monitor this. I think he was just noseying but can't be sure knowing his recent history. After a stern talking to by Aunty Sue he did stay quiet until 4 am yesterday. So as not to wake the others I came down with duvet and slept on the sofa with him. He was a right 'sofa-hog'and he pinched the duvet. Typical bloke. Never mind, he could get away with anything! Can't remember the last time OH took a doglet for a walk! More piccies to follow. I love you

bounce bounce bounce it's been a very busy couple of weeks for you just lately.
Seen more doggies going through the site in the last few days then in the whole month before.
well done for all your hard work if it was not for you who knows where those dogs would be now.
Most likely not in the nice warm loving homes with their new slaves to look after their every need.
Yorkiegirl you do such a great job, I for one think you are magic.
Champagne Well done keep up the good work.

We were really tempted to keep Monty but don't know what the future holds except we are moving abroad next year for 3 years. It doesn't seem like the right time to take a dog permanently. As soon as Joan's details were received it was obvious that Monty should go to her. The same thing has happened to my other fosters. Its like a little miracle happens and each dog goes to the perfect home. Of course, Sue, Maritsa and everyone involved with YTTBR make it all happen but I still feel humble to be part of it. I bet all you fosterers out there know what I mean! It's a lovely feeling when you know you've helped a little one on it's way to a better life. What a lovely lot you all are! luv Sal x
