BUSTER - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - LINCOLNSHIRE

Post by yorkiegirl on Thu Oct 07, 2010 4:33 am

    NAME OF DOG - BUSTER
BREED OF DOG – YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - MALE
AGE OF DOG – 16 MONTHS
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - YES
    VACCINATED - YES
MICROCHIPPED - NO TO BE DONE WHEN NEW OWNER IS FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - YES
CATS - YES DOG SAVVY ONES
    CHILDREN – OLDER SENSIBLE ONES
    APPROX WEIGHT – 7KG APPROX
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER - 12” APPROX

Buster has come in to our care as his old owners circumstances have changed & he was being left for long periods of time on his own in the kitchen. He is a standard Yorkshire terrier. He was said to start getting a bit snappy with people, but I feel this could have been either he was getting bored & also he was not getting the excerise/stimulation that he needed.
I will update more tomorrow as I am off to collect him from Rosalie.
Buster travelled well in a crate with the other 2 (not all in the same crate). He does appear to not like being left as I just them in the kitchen while I sorted out the van etc & he was not a happy bunny, maybe still feeling a bit disorientated? I will see what he is like tonight after a quick walk (bit knackered for a long one). Playing with the other youngsters including Lucy Loo Laughing
He has tried to snap at me when I asked him to get down while I was eating, more 'bravado' though than intention, I feel he has not had a great deal of discipline/direction, but is very intelligent & will soon enjoy learning new ways. He would benefit from training/agility classes & a home with another confident dog. He would suit an active family with children over 8 who can play footie with him & have a rough & tumble. He will have a wash & brush up tomorrow so I can get some better pics, but meanwhile I have managed a couple.

Before an application is made please read the following carefully:
Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee, We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.

Only apply for the dog if you intend to travel to the fosters carers location, We do not deliver dogs or allow a third party to collect, the adoptor/s must travel to view the dog.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of BUSTER is required to complete an adoption form after carefully reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.
The adoption form can be found by clicking here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

Hiya - just wondered how Buster is - and if he's had a brush up yet.

Husband and I are seriously considering Buster - just wanted to check whether there had been any more "nipping". Not overly concerned with it as only one 14 yr old sensible son Smile and a sensible 2 yr old Yorkie too Smile

On the main page there are 2 bits you need to do.
    1. Introduce yourself although you have given us quite a bit of info already.
    2. On the main forum page there is an adoption procedure. Read the info and fill in the form. give us as much info as you can.

Anyway welcome to the group. Join in the chat and read the dogs needing a home - if they are red they are reserved.

Its mainly the small yorkies and ex-breeding ones that seem to have bad teeth.
It also depends on the food they have been given, and older ones, I have a 16 year old Yorkie I am fostering for The Cinnamon Trust, recently had to have 28 removed. affraid

You will not get any replies straight away so be patient, all forms will be gone through and the right slaves will be chosen after careful consideration. He may not be ready yet for rehoming.

Buster is doing really well. He has learnt quite a bit in the hands of his wonderful foster carers. He is undergoing a home check over the next few days, however this does not mean he is now homed. It will still depend on how the meeting with him goes & if the foster carers feel his prospective adoptors are suitable for him. Many more coming in though!! Have you seen darling Leo, poor boy seems to getting over looked because of the youngsters. He is a dream.
