    Christmas Auction details

Post by gail on Fri Oct 29, 2010 9:52 am

    Hi All

We will be holding our Christmas Auction starting on Sunday 21st November 2010 and finish on 28th November.

If any of you would like to donate anything for the auction this is the way to do it:

PLEASE SEND YOUR DONATION DETAILS TO ADMIN.

You are responsible for ensuring the item is of good condition and in working order and then dispatching to the winner no later than Saturday 4th December (to get there in time for xmas).

We ask the present giver to pay for the postage as a way of helping the rescue.

If you want a minimum bid, please say FROM and then a price so people know at what price to start bidding.

The money raised from the auction will go towards the bills for the dogs.

We may change a few things over the next few days as this is the first time Helen and I have done this, so please be patient with us.

Getting digging out stuff that can be put on the auction!!

    New info:
We have amended the auction dates to give time to get more stuff. A new section will be added soon for all the items to be put on.

Tips ... ask local businesses to donate - a secret box is always a winner (advertise a box but the contents is s suprise coud be a a can of dog food or could be a dvd player) and just remind people of the auction by a mass email which I can do for you Smile

I got brand spanking new pink puppy harness, that was for my mums pup, and it's to smAll, so that would only gather dust,

And loads of DVD CDs, teddies that never made it to the dog show.

I am trying to think what ricks company can do to donate, they don't sell goods as it's a printing firm, but he may be able to knock up one calendar for the winning bidder to have their dog on all the months. Will have a chat with him see what he can do.

    aww...that's spoilt that one then

Thank you all for your auction prizes...lets hope we can raise some much needed pennies. The next thing we all need to do is open up a page in this section so that each auction prize has it's own page.

If we can get up on each page to show the item I'm sure it will generate a lot more interest Very Happy We could do with some smaller auction items like collars, leads, dog coats, dog bowls, small Xmas pressies etc (stocking fillers). Does anyone have a few smaller items like that they would be willing to donate?

I have definately got a medium sized collar that I can donate. I will also do the surprise box Very Happy I will open a thread up for these items next week Very Happy

No need to raid the shed gals, Ive got sue coming over today with bits and bobs and I have boxes and boxes to go through for auction items, I will get to it today.Camera is fully charged and ready to go...lol

Just one suggestion, when members start an item for the auction (once the section is up and running) can I suggest that the starting price is enough to cover the postage, That way people can donate and list items without having to pay the postage, Just a thought Gals.

And a huge thank you to Gail and Helen for getting the ball rolling on this, Your absolute stars.

The O.H can definatly do a Personalised Note pad.. not much of a prize really, but someone may want their very own Notepad with a picture of their dog on all pages..

When the winner of the bidding is announced he will need a picture of their dog ( or cat or any pet ) and what they would like the TEXT to say on the header..then he can make it asap.

Ive managed to list everything I have here. I have however kept a few things back as Sue and I will be doing a xmas stall in Grantham (Hopefully) and we need some hand made crafty items for that, But I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in advance for donating to us, Without such donations we would not be able to raise funds to keep this rescue running. I may not have thanked everyone personally in the auction threads, but its hard to keep track of who donated what, But a huge thank you to you all the same.

    Hugs

    Mulan.
