LOLA - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - LINCOLNSHIRE

Post by yorkiegirl on Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:29 am

NOW RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK & MEETING

    NAME OF DOG – LOLA
    BREED OF DOG –YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - FEMALE
AGE OF DOG – 15 MONTHS OLD
NEUTERED/SPAYED – NO AS IN SEASON AT PRESENT (Spay Agreement to be implimented by Adoptee)
    VACCINATED – YES
MICROCHIPPED – NO TO BE DONE WHEN NEW OWNER IS FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS –YES
    CATS – YES
    CHILDREN – YES SENSIBLE ONES
    APPROX WEIGHT – 2KG APPROX
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER – 6” approx

LOLA WILL NOT BE REHOMED TO ANYONE THAT IS WORKING AS SHE IS SUFFERING FROM SEPERATION ANXIETY

Lola was handed in to our care along with Leo as their old owners was no longer able to provide all they needed due to the drastic change in her circumstances. It was meant that they were being left for 16/18 hours per day. This was having an effect on the dogs behaviour. They were barking all the time & did not like it when they were left again.
We did think that they could have stayed together, but as Lola came into season earlier than was calculated we had to separate them as Leo was still intact (now neutered) & it was not safe. They have however settled well without each other so I have decided that they will stay separated as when they were together displayed signs of feeding off each others fear etc.
Mulan is fostering Lola & has said that she will send an update & some pics of her.
She has been good to bath/groom & even let Mulan clip her nails without any fuss.
She is getting on well with the other 4 dogs at Mulans & is playing well with Lillie, so it is felt that whilst she appears not to be missing Leo another sensible, similar aged/sized dog would be good for her.

Before an application is made please read the following carefully:
Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee. We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.
Only apply for the dog if you intend to travel to the fosters carers location. We do not deliver dogs or allow a third party to collect the adoptor/s must travel to view the dog.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of LOLA is required to complete an adoption form after carefully reading all the adoption rules & procedures please. Please be aware that you will only be called if you have been chosen to adopt, we do NOT call every applicant
The adoption form can be found by clicking here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

    Update from Mulan

Lola is such a loving girl. She will gladly jump on your lap and fall straight to sleep in any position shes in. Lola has had the odd accident, but this was when she first came here. Once she knew where to go she was fine. Lola's behaviour towards other dogs is hysterical, she will play with them by throwing herself underneath their belly and rolling around on the floor. We could easily fail with Lola as she is such a lovely little girl and fits in with all the dogs in our house. Her recall is brilliant, although she pulls on the lead this can be easily remedied by training. But Lola loves to run and bounce over the longer grass, she gets very wet and her coat gets knotted, hence she needs brushing regulary.

Now for her bad point. There is only one. She suffers from seperation anxiety. She hates to be left alone without a human. She is happy to stay with the other dogs, but will insist on barking when you leave her. This is a work in progress. I have tried to leave her downstairs where the others sleep, but was woken every couple of hours by her barking. So this is a work in progress...lol. We feel Lola needs to be placed with another dog who is going to play with her, she has so much to give. Lola is fine with children and adults alike. This little girl has not got a nasty bone in her body, she's a pleasure to foster.

Hi Lola, I'm Vinnie but the slaves' friends nick named me "Conehead the Barbarian" as I had a dew claw removed last month - had to wear the fetching lampshade fashion accessory. lol!

Glad to get rid of that now but I thought you might like to see a picture.

I know what it's like as I too had separation anxiety when my slaves rescued me but it didn't take me long to train them! I can usually go anywhere with them and it's been really great.

Here's hoping we get a chance to meet as I'm also a Yorkie and only small. After 2 years on my own I'm trained and I'm ready for another small doggy friend to share my slaves with.

    Love and kisses
    Vinnie

    Lola looks so cute Love2

We noticed that you have said that Lola will not be placed with anyone who is working, what if that person only worked for 1 hour a day? and what if she was with another dog during that hour, would that be too much for her as well?

Please are ther anymore pictures of Lola

    Thanks, Perran

    Slave waiting for Lola

Post by Ladylilibet on Thu Jan 13, 2011 3:37 am

Have offered a forever home for Lola if her ideal circumstances cannot be found. We would love to have her and even though we're not doggie pals we don't mind behaving like ones! I do not work; we rarely go out but then she would come with us. Fingers crossed little darling.

Popular girl! have also sent in an application. George and Gina are too old to play and little chihuahua needs a friend as Geoffery is going back to his mummy soon. She tries to play with them, but no luck. She is also tiny - 2kg and 5'' high. Looks just like my yorkie I had in South Africa - house is not complete without a Yorkie.
