Thank God for good people finding and caring for these poor abused sweethearts. How they can get to this awful stage and be callously dumped like garbage is just beyond belief. May karma visit them in spades!!!

    Up for them

    27-01-11 MERCY UPDATE
Mercy is such a sweet darling. She is feeling so much better, she is less itchy and is tucking into more food and drinking her water. She is thoroughly enjoying the comfort of her bed and you often find her snuggled up in her blankets.  Now it is just a matter of time and love to help her.
    27-01-11 PITY UPDATE
This might not look good to you but it's marvellous to us.  Everyone who saw this girl laying in the road truthfully thought she was going to die. She is truly amazing.  She is eating and drinking and today we have concentrated on making her comfortable. We still can not bath her as she is still in shock but we have shaved the solid matt's from around her feet when we did this puss eased from her nail beds, they were so swollen. Tonight she is laid on her heated mat with a lovely warm coat on but still please say a little prayer for her.

    Fingers crossed for them x

I was reading a post by a lady who breeds Cavaliers - a responsible breeder. She mentioned a little dog she had that had been bought by a couple who seemed to be good people. However, they had the dog spayed far too young and the shock to the dogs system, and consequent medication, resulted in this type of mange. She got very worried when she talked to them on the phone and in the end she got in the car and drove a few 100 miles to get the dog back from them. When she got there she found it virtually comatose in exactly the same state that Pity is in. They'd only had the dog a couple of months. She gave them their money back, paid their £500 outstanding vets bills and took the dog home and treated it with Dermacton. You can see the results here.

The 'before' pictures are actually taken after 3 weeks of treatment.

I just hope it's not too late for Mercy and Pity and they can have the same results.

Gosh Liz those photos are awful Shocked I'm so glad she's safe now and back where she belongs. Do you know what age they got the pup spayed? My vet told me to spay Maisy at six months, before her season, and after talking with Sue we choose to wait (she's booked in for easter). My friend was also told to book her pup in at six months and after I relayed my conversation with Sue, she choose to wait too. Sorry Liz, thats a really long winded way of saying is six months too soon?

Well what can I say??.......... There is just no logic to how some peoples brain (or lack of) work. I am absolutely amazed that these two doggies lived. There was defiantly an angel there somewhere (apart from the human one that literally brought these two back to life.) Really don’t know how Pity pulled through…… Sometimes I think I can’t be shocked anymore and then I see something like this. Speechless really……. Just very grateful for the wonderful people that pulled them through. x

Sorry Helen, I've only just spotted this question Headbasher I've checked the original and the little dog was spayed at 5 months because the vet receptionist said 'it would be a good idea'. This then led to the problems. Does that help?

I totally agree. We can focus on the evil unspeakable people who did this to these poor creatures and get sunk in the blackness of them, but really the spotlight should be on the wonderful kindness of the goodhearted people who helped these two back to health and show them there is a lot of good in this world. to them all
