Post by Admin on Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:34 pm

    NOW RESERVED PENDING MEETING

    NAME OF DOG - Scruffy
BREED OF DOG - Yorkshire Terrier
    SEX OF DOG - Male
AGE OF DOG - 10 months~(1year old in may)
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - BEING DONE
VACCINATED - Yes boster due in July 11
MICROCHIPPED - Yes to be up date when new owner is found

    CATS - Unsure
CHILDREN - Yes from 4 years
    APPROX WEIGHT - 6kg
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER - 10½"

Scruffy has come to us due to owner being too unwell to care for him and herself. The elderly owner collapsed in the street with emphasyma and spiritwind rushed immediately to get the dog. This was a mega emergency and she dropped everything to go and rescue him.

He lacks Basic commands eg; sit, come, stay, heel.
i will work with him to try and get them together.

Scruffy is very fidgety in the car so will need a harness
    that connects to seatbelt.

His is a very lively puppy, playful and kinda barks to
    get you to play.

He will let you know if he needs to go out for his ones n twos.

owner has told me also that he cant be left for long periods of time, as he ones n twos everywhere and rolls in it.
he will only sleep in the bed with you, was told he sleeps above your head (will find out and let you know more)
Scruffy will eat wet or dryed food.

He has seperation anxiety. Pees and poos everywhere and this will have to$ be worked on. He will have to go to puppy classes with his new slave.

Before an application is made please read the following carefully:
Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee, We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.
Only apply for the dog if you intend to travel to the fosters carers location, We do not deliver dogs or allow a third party to collect, the adoptor/s must travel to view the dog.
Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of *SCRUFFY* is required to complete an adoption form after carefully reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.

Update i got about 3 hours sleep last night
Oscar and sruffy where moving about to see who could get close enough to me in bed
so in the end i layed in the middle of the bed and held one on each side of me that seem to work.
Scruffy was alittle unsettled and wimpered alittle i'm sure things will settle over the next few days.
i have been working with him on basic comands ( been using chicken becuz his old owner gave him loads of dog treats in the day so normal dog treats wasnt working)

I have taken him out on the lead along with Oscar and that seems to help and is getting better each time we have been out.
The reason i have been taking him out (or just in the garden) just to get him to understand more that is where he needs to go bathroom.
so far i have only had one mishap from him.

Even tho Scruffy is still very much a pup he is a very cute boy and will make a great dog with the right love and traning.
    well thats it for now
for those who want to adopt be sure to fill in the paper work and get it sent off

just remember you can put in for more than one at a time and the one who makes your requirement will be contacted.

    Good Luck all
    more soon

What an absolutely sweetie. Hopefully his separation anxiety can be worked on since he is so young. I would love to adopt this chap if I could, but I will have to wait a few months yet. No doubt he will have countless people fighting over him before then! Love3

Please remember that whilst were are all able to fall in love at first sight with some of these little Scruffy and the other new dogs have only just come into our care. He is currently undergoing his assessment period with his foster carer. This is for two weeks where he will be assessed to see if he has any issues, likes and dislikes.

Please be advised that a dogs personality can change during this time. You are very welcome to send in application forms for any of our dogs but non are looked at until the dogs assessment period is coming to an end Very Happy

Thank you for the heads-up. I'm aware of the process though and don't mind how long it takes to find the dog that's most suited. It will be worth the wait.

Sounds like you are doing a great job spiritswind. Will look forward to hearing how scruffy develops, it's amazing how dogs start to learn what is expected, and he so young. He will be a lovely dog with a few of his issues sorted out. Good on yer

Scruffy has come along way since i picked him up on wed
Hes great on the lead, sits 9 out of 10 when asked.
He now Barks or sits by the door to go out to do his bussness, if he needs to go out in the night he licks your face (as he sleeps at the bottom of the bed he wont sleep in his own bed).

i have been able to leave him on his own for an hour with out any mishaps (i put him in the kitchen well cutting the grass).

Scruffy along with Oscar have both be great with the kids in the street when they have come round to play with my Girl, they lay there and soak up all the fusses that they have been given.

well thats all i can think of at this moment in time another update soon

    Very Happy
