    April 2011 Fundraising Ideas :-)

Post by Admin on Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:16 am

Just want to pick your brains really......

What kind of fundraising ideas do you all have? We have had quite a few vet bills recently and little Amy may need future operations so we need to get our thinking caps on to raise extra pennies (£££'s! lol)

As members you are always so generous, it feels wrong to ask you all again. We have the tote running, Photo competition, the card shop, the YR&TBR shop and the book shop which raises money for the rescue. So here's the plan.....

We need groups/teams of people in different areas to either stand outside (or inside if they're kind) pet shops, supermarkets, pubs or anywhere where they will have us lol! In advance we will need to obtain permission from that place. We also need to obtain a license from the council. Any takers?

Also car boot season has started....could you give up a day to raise funds for us??

What about local dog shows? Could you ask for a stall?

Does anyone fancy getting sponsorship....running a marathon for us! lol! What about sponsored diet? Sponsored silence...head shave....Do you have any other ideas? Does anyone know a business that would donate raffle prizes? A holiday! lol!

Admin will help where we can so please feel free to either post on this thread or PM us. Look forward to your responses

    in advance

We do have something similar running at the moment by Mr & Mrs Grumpydos.

Members can sign up and make a monthly donation by direct debit.

If anyone is near to Hull I would be quite happy to stand outside P@H to do a collection outside with them??

Not all those registered are with us any more.
Most of them adopt a dog and don't want to be involved any more.
    It has been considered before.

    Helen

I am in Leeds, but would travel up to do a Sat with you. Perhaps if we have our rescue dogs with, people would be more encouraged??

    Well confession time. Embarassed
As some of you know I smoked affraid Evil or Very Mad , but as from Feb 3rd this year I have not had a cigarette.
I did consider doing a sponsor 'stop smoking', but did not want to look a failure & let you all down if I did not do it so kept it quiet, but succeeded.
Bugger could have made a bloody fortune out of you lot
However Andrew is yet again running the Para 10 this year for 2 charities, us being one of them & the other being Operation Warriors Return which is one he is helping start up for service men & women who are back from operational tours after losing limbs etc so if anyone wishes to sponsor him you are most welcome. Who knows now I do not smoke I may even enter & run the 10k

Now that Sue we would pay to see...
I did the glasgow half marathon many years ago and lots of 10k's
Have the medals and pics to prove it
I tried to take the jogging/running up again a year ago but the old knees were in agony so had to pack it in.. Evil or Very Mad
Would be good if you get get a few members to run a 5k or 10k and wear the rescue t-shirts and maybe get lots of sponsor money, from forum and other places. Idea

why dont we do our own sponsored run wheel chairs, buggies, doggies, and real runners, we could all get together & make a weekend of it.
