NOW RESERVED PENDING HOME CHECK & MEETING

    NAME OF DOG -COOKIE
    BREED OF DOG -YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG -MALE
    AGE OF DOG - almost 2 YEARS OLD (d.o.b. July 22nd 2009)
    NEUTERED/SPAYED -YES
    VACCINATED - YES ( due 8/12/11)

    CATS - YES
CHILDREN - YES - SENSIBLE ONES
    APPROX WEIGHT -5.25 KG
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER -9 inch

Cookie came into the rescue very reluctantly, his owner loved him dearly but didn't have the time to give him all the attention he needed......he does love attention! He loves being cuddled and is very much the lap dog. He can be quite nervous and a little timid but with plenty of love and treats he quickly overcomes this. He has been living in a house with older children so would be okay with sensible children. He is a lovely little dog, someone is going to be very lucky!

Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee, We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.

Apologies for the lack of information. Cookie has been with a foster carer since around 19th May but is not very good with computers etc so we are trying to get information via the phone & keep missing each other. As soon as we can we wil update his profile fully & add some pics of him. I am just as eager as you to see what little Cookie looks like. Hide

We havent had any of the paperwork returned yet on him Embarassed We 'think' he is 12 months old but until we see it in writing from his old owners we dare not confirm. As soon as we know for sure we will update his thread Very Happy He is also vaccinated (but just need the confirmation with his paperwork etc Very Happy )

Cookie is back with me now, I picked him up this morning. Was very nervous at first but settled well in the car for the hour long journey home. He is sitting beside me now along with Sandy my JRT. He seems to remember his way around, found the cat flap and went out for a pee as soon as we got in.Is not nervous of my partner at all, I think he remembered all the doggie treats. I checked his paper work, he is almost 2, his birthday is July 22nd 2009. He is microchipped all the relevant papers are with him as are all the receipts for vet treatment and vacs. He has a wealth of doggie toys and clothing he has been a very pampered boy. His original owner loved him dearly but didn't have the time to give him all the attention he needed......he does love attention! Someone is going to be very lucky!

He is a lovely boy. He sleeps all night in his bed, in the kitchen with Sandy, he doesn't make a peep.
He is a little wary of other dogs when we are out, he grumbles as they pass, he is not at all aggressive.
He doesn't seem to be at all fussy with his food, he readily eats everything I put down for him, both tinned food and dry.
He has been totally clean indoors, he uses the catflap to go in and out, he follows Sandy like a shadow!
He loves treats, I'm sure they are the key to his heart!

I had my grandson,7, to stay last night, Cookie was very wary at first, he makes little growly sounds and backs off, however by this morning the two of them were best buddies and Cookie was sitting on his lap, taking treats and playing ball in the garden, he even let him groom him! He is very shy and unsure of himself at first, in most situations, but once he gains his confidence he's fine. We're just all back from a run in the park and he's sleeping in his bed.

Cookie is getting on fine, he is still very much a young dog, just wants to play and get into mischief. He is totally clean in the house, non destructive, although he loves his chewy bones,if poor Sandy turns away for a second he nicks his....he has even stolen one from out of his mouth! Saying that you can take his away and he is not at all aggressive.
He is OK with our cat, only chased her once, but she ran first, she does tend to keep out of the way though, I think with careful introductions he'd be fine.
He loves his walks, I haven't let him off the lead yet, I think he'd benefit from training classes to work on his recall. He picks things up very quickly, sit, down, shake hands, get down etc.
He loves being brushed, he will sit on my lap for ages letting me comb him, my one runs a mile at the sight of the brush!
