MONTY - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - SWINDON

Post by spiritswind1975 on Fri Aug 05, 2011 7:16 am

    NAME OF DOG – MONTY
BREED OF DOG – YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - MALE
AGE OF DOG – 7 YEARS DOB: 00/10/2003
    NEUTERED/SPAYED – YES
VACCINATED – YES DOSTER DUE DEC 2011
MICROCHIPPED – YES ADDRESS TO BE CHANGED WHEN NEW SLAVE FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMENDED
OTHER DOGS – YES BUT CAN BE VERY PROTECTIVE OF HIS TERRITORY
    CATS – NO
    CHILDREN – FROM 3 YEARS
APPROX WEIGHT – TO BE DONE
APPROX HEIGHT TO SHOULDER – 10”

Sadly the owner has let Monty come into our care the family is immigrating to Australia, but due to cost and the 6 to 9 months in quarantine she felt it was unfair on him. His family are very sad on making this decision but feel it is better for Monty.
He has never lived with cats and has often tried to catch the neighbour’s cats.
He pulls a little on the lead, but he’s not to bad off the lead as long as away from cars and bikes.
Monty is scared of the hoover, he dislikes bicycles, fireworks, thunder and postmen.
He can show some human aggressive behaviour if you try taking food/objects from his mouth, strangers at the door, and he can be very protective of his territory.
He likes short walks, quite happy to go in the garden.
He likes to sleep in his basket in the bedroom

Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee. We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.

I would love him but I have 2 cats, they are 'dog savvy' and just ignore them or stay out of the way but I guess I have to wait until a cat friendly little boy comes along, I'm really impatient, I can't help it. How do people work at rescue centres with all the lovely dogs, I would be taking them all home for ever
