LUCY - YORKSHIRE TERRIER - PLYMOUTH

Post by Admin on Sat Nov 19, 2011 12:27 am

LUCY IS RESERVED PENDING HOMECHECK COMPLETION

    NAME OF DOG - LUCY
BREED OF DOG - YORKSHIRE TERRIER
    SEX OF DOG - FEMALE
AGE OF DOG - 4 YEARS OLD
    NEUTERED/SPAYED - YES
    VACCINATED - YES
MICROCHIPPED - NO TO BE DONE WHEN NEW OWNER IS FOUND
    INSURED - NO BUT RECOMMENDED
    OTHER DOGS - NO
    CATS - TBA
    CHILDREN - YES
APPROX WEIGHT - TO BE UPDATED BY FOSTER CARER
    APPROX HEIGHT TBA

Lucy has come back to the rescue as it didn't work out in her old home that she was placed in from this rescue. Suddenly she decided that she detested the little old Whippet that she had happily lived with for over 18 months, even allowing the whippet to wash her pups (she was a few weeks pregnant when she was handed to our rescue).
It was an absolute heartbreaking decision that Valerie had to make, but she could no longer trust Lucy with it.
Even when the walked her to meet the whippet on mutual ground Lucy was still determind to attack, this is why we have now said NO OTHER DOGS as we would not want another dog to suffer. So if you already have another dog no matter how placid etc it may be you will not be considered.

She is a lovely dog and is looking for a home where she can have all the attention, without other animals there.

Lorry will be along to give more details in due course.

Before an application is made please read the following carefully:
Please do not apply for the dog unless you have the funds to pay the donation fee. We do not have the facility to hold dogs in our care until the prospective owners have the funds to adopt the dog.
Only apply for the dog if you intend to travel to the fosters carers location. We do not deliver dogs or allow a third party to collect the adoptor/s must travel to view the dog.

Anyone wishing to be considered for the adoption of LUCY is required to complete an adoption form after carefully reading all the adoption rules & procedures please.

Please be aware that you will only be called if you have been chosen to adopt, we do NOT call every applicant

The adoption form can be found by clicking here: http://www.yorkieandtoybreedrescue.co.uk/adopting.html

Waving Arthu (Arthur?) was this your first post?

ask you to make a post on the 'Introductions' thread and tell us a bit about yourself before you join in one of the conversations on the 'We Need A Home' thread (or anything else for that matter). I couldn't see a post from you there so please could you do that?

That said, I agree Lucy is absoluetly gorgeous and are crossed for you with the adoption!

I think when it say no animals it means the four legged kind .. as she must show some sort of not getting along signs.. and wants a mom/dad all to herself..

Oh dear ,my boys cat .... cat are weeping, no little Lucy for them and me to play with Crying or Very sad

You are perfectly right this little girl needs the best people matched with her ,unfortunately thats not us this time
She deserves to be the centre of attention ,and why not? she has had a bad start, she doesn't need any more insecurity in her short life .
Good luck to all the applicants ,my short experience with the Yorkie and Toy dog Rescue has shown me that this charity has got its priorities right dogs, dogs, and dogs first and formost.
The clue is in the name Rolling Eyes isn't it ?
    Idea
Dog rescue not people or money rescue just the correct home for each individual dog.I expect a lot of people will put in an application and know the admin will do their best for Lucy queen Clapping

Lucy now called Lilly by her last owners is now my new forster dog
She is about 10 inches to shoulder and weighs 11lbs.
will post pic once a learn how to xx
She meets others dogs on walks well.
she is good with my to girls who are 12,16.
Will bark at some tv adds and shows.
walks well on a lead. but could do with learning to sit at the road side.
she is a sweet little dog and i would say she would suit a

Hi. My name is Valerie Low and I was Lily's mummy for the last 18 months. She was the most happy, loving dog I have ever had and was very lively. Due to an unfortunate incident between Lily and one of my other dogs (which the vets said was probably one-in-a-million) we were given no choice but to re-home her to someone without any pets. As you can understand the whole family are devastated by this as we all loved her dearly. We went through so much with her during that time including delivering 3 unexpected but beautiful puppies. In hindsight I wish we had kept one but they are all very happy with our friends who took them on. She does bark at the tv sometimes (especially the specsavers advert where he shears the sheepdog) but she was such a lively, busy, happy dog and all our friends and family who met her fell in love with her. We know we have made a difficult but correct decision to let her go, but are very pleased that she looks so happy in her foster home and hope that she finds a family who can love her as much as we did. We miss her cuddles and licks all the time!! She will make any family thoroughly happy as she is the perfect doggy for any family with no pets. We cherish the time we shared with Lily and hope that she brings happiness to someone for many many years to come.

I am sorry Lily hurt your whippet, can I just ask if the whippet was female. Some of these yorkies can be very feisty and others as calm as can be. I hope the whippet is ok now.

She is still looking & I think we have just received your application form, but it appears that you are not seeking to adopt until after Christmas? If that is the case we cannot hold dogs that long so you would have to re apply for any that are available when you are ready to adopt.

OK yes I understand. We are unable to collect from Swindon between now and Christmas. Weekends are the only time we can collect (can't travel from Lewes to Swindon during the week). If she were nearer geographically then it would not be a problem for us. :-( It is a logistical issue really. Will check back in January. Hope she finds a home soon.

I think it's a very wise decision to find Lucy an only doggie home for the future. Jodie was a nightmare with other dogs - at first willing to drag her and me across the road to get at them - but she adored my Mother's dog - Jasper - and although a lot younger, he was the boss - if he did get into a bad mood - not very often - she'd go away and let him get over it.

We got to the point with her when she decided about other dogs that rather than have a go at them before they could have a go at you she'd just ignore them - might have a good look at what they were doing but give them a really wide berth. However, I was staggered about 15 months ago my cousin brought (on mutual ground) her tiny 4 month old yorkie pup to meet us and Jo was quite prepared to fight.

I'm sure that Lucy/Lily will find just the right Mummy/Daddy and have a lovely life.

    Hi Alyson

Lucy is ok when meeting dogs out on walks and was also ok with one of the other dogs that she lived with. We just cannot take the chance of her living with other dogs again Very Happy
